UP.SIGHT
Single-cell dispenser with fluorescence and plate imaging for double-assured monoclonality.
Dispense single cells selected by both fluorescence and morphology for more stringent isolation of the cells you actually want. Combining image-based dispensing with green fluorescence detection, the system enables you to isolate the right cells while generating visual proof of clonality from day zero, either in CLD or single-cell omics workflows.
With minimal setup and intuitive software, the system is ready to begin single-cell isolation in just a few minutes.
Automatically classify and dispense cells based on size, roundness, and fluorescence intensity.
Single cells are gently dispensed into a 96-well plate in under 2 minutes or into a 384-well plate in under 8 minutes.
Low-shear piezo dispensing helps preserve cell viability while accurately isolating individual cells for downstream culture.
Designed to fit inside standard biosafety cabinets, allowing sterile single-cell isolation without sacrificing valuable bench space.
Captures nozzle images during every dispensing to verify single-cell dispensing events. For double-assured monoclonality assurance, consider the UP.SIGHT.
Traditional fluorescence sorters rely on signal intensity alone. F.SIGHT combines fluorescence detection with image-based verification, allowing scientists to sort cells based on fluorescence, size and morphology, while documenting each dispensing event with visual evidence of monoclonality. The result is higher confidence in downstream cell line development and single-cell workflows.

Unlike FACS, which subjects cells to high shear forces that can affect viability and omics profiles, F.SIGHT uses gentle, non-contact inkjet-like dispensing to preserve cell health. Automated Offset Correction (AOC) ensures precise cell deposition into the center of conical wells with as little as 1 μL in 384-well plates, enabling assay miniaturization for omics workflows.
With a dispensing efficiency of 97% and a clone outgrowth rate of >80%, it takes only 645 wells and 20 minutes of dispensing to yield 500 high-quality clones. It takes alternative dispenser at least 40% more wells and 400% longer compared to the UP.SIGHT.
The outcome is faster cell line development with fewer consumables, less labor, and more confidence in every clone.

Consistent performance across single-cell dispensing parameters makes isolating low-frequency, high-value clones deterministic rather than probabilistic. That predictability supports CLD project timelines and budgets.
The F.SIGHT is dispense-ready in under five minutes with virtually no setup before starting a dispensing run at around 40 single cells per minute. A simple sample dilution to 10E6 cells/mL is sufficient.
A 96-well plate is seeded in 2 minutes or a 384-well plate in 8 minutes, with single-cell dispensing efficiencies exceeding 97%. Cleaning and shutdown take only an additional 5 minutes.
The F.SIGHT is a compact system that fits neatly inside a standard biosafety cabinet. Cell suspensions are loaded into individually packaged EASY.ON single-use cartridges that eliminate cross-contamination between samples.
Unlike impedance, FACS, or limiting dilution, which infer clonality statistically, F.SIGHT provides direct visual confirmation of clonal origin at Day 0.
With the odds of an unnoticed doublet at roughly 1 in 2 million dispensing events, you build confidence in each of your single-cell dataset generated downstream.
Include or exclude green-fluorescent cells (488 nm laser; 561 nm available on request) while simultaneously evaluating cell size and roundness. Image-based gating excludes debris, doublets, and unwanted cells before dispensing, enabling highly selective isolation of the desired cell population. Inquire for alternative fluorescence options.
A programmable lid and accessible plate carrier enable seamless integration into automated workflows with virtually any scheduler. Whether used as a standalone instrument, paired with a robotic arm, or incorporated into a fully automated cell line development workcell, F.SIGHT is designed to scale with your automation needs.

"The F.sight device is easy to use and, thanks to the use of sterile cartridges, does not require any complex cleaning procedures and prevents cross-contamination. The cells to be dispensed can be selected and reliably dispensed on the basis of size, roundness and fluorescence. The dispensing of the individual cells is documented with the aid of a camera, which also provides good quality control and documentation for each cell afterwards. Due to its small size, the F.sight can be operated in a sterile bench.”
“This instrument is a very reliable, cost-efficient and gentle cell dispensing system, which greatly reduces premature cell lysis and avoids debris, duplets, and clumps through its sophisticated optical control parameters. Cells can be efficiently selected based on size and roundness. In addition, the f.sight optionally allows the use of fluorescence as an optical selection parameter for gentle selection of e.g. GFP-labelled or antibody stained cells.”
“CYTENA's cloning platform is suitable for generating clonal cell lines with a probability of ≥99.9%. Overall, the implementation of this novel technology provides significant advantages over traditional methods with respect to cost, simplicity, timing and flexibility."
"This device is very easy to use, and can dispense cells gently, cheaply and reliably, preventing early cell rupture. It also enables filtering out debris, doublets and aggregates with its advanced optical settings. It is a very efficient way to sort GFP-expressing or labelled cells, as it is very fast, and less complicated to handle when compared to sorting cells using FACs."

Yes — F.SIGHT, B.SIGHT, UP.SIGHT and C.STATION carry a 488 nm laser (replaceable with 561 nm on request) and can gate on fluorescence in addition to size and roundness to either include or exclude labelled cells. The entry-level C.SIGHT dispenses on morphology only, without fluorescence.
AOC places the cell-containing droplet precisely at the centre of a conical well, in as little as 1 µl of buffer. That precision enables sub-microlitre reactions and library-prep miniaturisation for single-cell omics. AOC is available on F.SIGHT and UP.SIGHT (and on C.STATION via UP.SIGHT).
Yes. Verified single-cell isolation gives clean, doublet-free input, while non-contact picolitre dispensing and AOC allow miniaturised, reagent-saving library preparation for NGS and other omics. F.SIGHT and UP.SIGHT are best suited, adding fluorescence selection and centre-of-well precision dispensing.
C.SIGHT is the entry image-based dispenser. F.SIGHT adds a fluorescence channel and AOC centre-of-well precision. UP.SIGHT is the all-in-one system, with a plate bottom imager that adds a second, in-well assurance of clonality (>99.99%), tracks Day-x clone growth (cell count and confluency), enables VCD and titer assay readout and advanced clone analytics for early selection with C.STUDIO.
