Fabrication of a microfluidic

dispensing cartridge for

single cell isolation

in Freiburg

Your Challenge

  • Transfer of the cartridge manufacturing to the Glassomer technology and development of a suitable process
  • Development of an innovative cartridge design for biomedial applications
  • Fabrication of the cartridge using technologies like lithography, UV casting, stereolithograhpy and thermal bonding
  • Evaluation of the performance of the new cartridges according to key quality features and application requirements

Your Qualification

  • Graduate student in mircosystems engineering, chemistry, materials science or physics
  • Lab experience and CAD skills required
  • Experience in stereolithography printing are beneficial
  • Independent, success-oriented working style
  • High self-motivation and interest in working in a dynamic and young team
  • Good communication skills in German or English

The Job

Goal of the project:

Development of a manufacturing process for disposable microfluidic dispensing cartridges based on glassomers unique glass structuring technology. Assessment of the new cartridge for the isolation of tumor cells using cytena´s single-cell dispensing instruments.

Cytena GmbH works in the field of next-generation single-cell dispensing. Cytena´s products enable our customers, like Novartis and Bayer, to bring important drugs faster and more safely to the market.

Glassomer GmbH has developed a unique process pipeline for the generating of high-quality glass components by techniques commonly reserved for polymer processing like 3D printing.
